Why is losing weight so difficult?

There are several reasons why people struggle to lose weight and get to their ideal weight, including:

Overeating: Many people eat more than they need, which leads to obesity.

Unhealthy diet: A diet high in processed foods, sugar and fat can lead to weight gain.

Insufficient exercise: A lack of physical activity and exercise can lead to increased energy consumption and therefore weight gain.

Metabolism problems: Some people have a slower metabolism, which means they burn fewer calories than others.

Emotional eating habits: Some people eat out of emotion, causing them to choose unhealthy foods and overeat.

Unrealistic expectations: Many people want to lose weight quickly, but realistic expectations and a healthy approach are important for successful long-term weight loss.

Weight gain during menopause

During menopause, it is normal for many women to experience weight gain. This is due to hormonal changes. During menopause, hormone levels change, including a decrease in estrogen, which can contribute to weight gain. As we age, our metabolism also decreases, which means we burn fewer calories than we did before. But lifestyle changes can also be an important cause: some women experience more stress or less exercise during menopause, which can lead to weight gain. Or the other way around, you get a little more time for yourself and for your partner and you want to spend it together with a snack and a drink.

You know what you need to do to lose weight, but you don’t do it? Why?

There are several reasons why people know what to do to lose weight but don’t do it, including:

Lack of motivation: It can be difficult to stay motivated when immediate results are not visible.

Too busy: Many people are too busy with work and other obligations to make time for healthy habits.

Emotions: Some people eat out of emotion, making it difficult for them to maintain control over their eating habits.

Unhealthy environment: It’s difficult to make healthy choices when your environment is full of unhealthy foods.

Lack of knowledge: Some people may not have enough knowledge about healthy diet and physical activity.

Lack of social support: It’s harder to stick to healthy habits if you don’t have support from friends or family.

t is important to recognize these challenges and look for solutions that suit you. A customized approach, building healthy habits and obtaining social support can help you achieve your goals.

How does a weight loss program work?

A weight loss program works in different ways, depending on the specific program. In general, a waste program contains the following elements:

Nutrition: The program includes guidance on healthy eating, such as limiting processed foods and eating plenty of vegetables, fruits, whole grains and protein-rich products.

Exercise: The program includes physical activity, such as exercise or sports, to burn calories and speed up digestion.

Behavior Change: The program supports behavior change through self-awareness and motivation techniques, including journaling, mindful eating habits, and taking on challenges.

Support: The program offers support through group training, individual guidance or online communities, where people can meet each other and exchange information.

It is important to remember that no two weight loss programs are the same and that finding the right program for your personal needs and goals is important to achieving success.

How does a personal trainer or coach help you lose weight?

A personal trainer or health coach can help you achieve weight loss goals by:

Guidance and motivation: A personal trainer or health coach can help you build a feasible exercise and diet plan, and guide and motivate you during the process.

Exercise planning: A personal trainer can help you develop and follow an efficient exercise plan to get the most out of your time in the gym.

Nutritional guidance: A health coach can help you determine your daily calorie needs and create a healthy eating plan that meets your goals.

Behavior change techniques: A personal trainer or health coach can help you build healthy habits and learn behavior change techniques, such as conscious eating habits and stress management.

Accountability: A personal trainer or health coach acts as an accountability partner, encouraging you to stay on track and monitor your progress.

With the right support and guidance, a personal trainer or health coach can help you stick to your goals and develop a healthy lifestyle.

Fitness and health are important topics in our fast-paced society. However, many people find it difficult to make the time and resources for an extensive workout at the gym. Fortunately, there are simple workout routines you can do every day that can be just as effective. In this article, we’ll discuss some of these routines that you can do without spending a lot of time, resources, or specific knowledge.

Squats Squats are an excellent way to strengthen your legs and buttocks. You can do them by standing with your feet shoulder-width apart and then bending your buttocks down, as if you were sitting on a chair. Make sure your knees do not go further forward than your toes and keep your back straight. Repeat this 15-20 times for three sets.

Push-ups Push-ups are a classic among fitness exercises. They strengthen your chest, triceps, shoulders and core. Get on your hands and knees, straighten your arms and keep your back straight. Then lower your chest and push yourself back up. Repeat this 15-20 times for three sets.

Planks Planks are an effective way to strengthen your core and back. Lie on your stomach, support yourself on your elbows and toes and keep your back straight. Hold this pose for as long as you can (ideally 30 seconds or more) and repeat three times.

Crunches Crunches are an excellent exercise for your abdominal muscles. Lie on your back, place your hands behind your head and then lift your shoulders and upper back. Make sure your elbows don’t go further forward than your knees. Repeat this 15-20 times for three sets.

Lunges Lunges are a good exercise for your legs and buttocks. Stand, then step forward with one leg and bend the knee of the front leg until your knee is directly above your ankle. Then push back up and repeat with the other leg. Repeat 15-20 times per leg for three sets.

The above exercises are a few of the many simple workout routines you can do every day. You don’t have to go to the gym. You don’t have to purchase anything for it. All you need is some comfortable clothes and let’s get started!

How do you make it a habit?

Making a workout routine a habit takes time and perseverance. Here are some tips to help you stick with it:

Make a plan and stick to it: Make a schedule of when you want to train and make sure you stick to it. It is better to exercise at a fixed time every day, so that it becomes easier to make it a habit.

Start with small steps: Start with just a few minutes a day and slowly build up to a more extensive workout.

Make it fun: Choose exercises that you enjoy and try to vary them so that you don’t get bored easily. A change can also be that you do these exercises one day and go outside for a walk or perhaps a run for half an hour the next.

Ask for support: Ask a friend or family member to train with you or to encourage you when you’re having a hard time.

Reward yourself: Reward yourself when you have achieved a certain goal or when you have spent a certain amount of time on fitness.

Stay motivated: Remember why you started doing these exercises and keep this in mind when you’re struggling.

By adhering to these tips and showing perseverance, you can successfully tackle making a workout routine a habit. Keep at it and enjoy the many benefits that come with regular fitness!

Oh yes… and of course I’m happy to help you get started! Did you know that this greatly increases the chance that it will actually become your new habit? I will also give you many additional tips to help you perform the exercises safely and effectively. That prevents possible injuries?

What is the difference between a personal trainer and a health coach?

A personal trainer focuses on helping individuals achieve their physical fitness goals through exercise and physical activity, while a health coach focuses on helping individuals make lifestyle changes to improve their overall health and well-being. Personal trainers typically create workout plans and provide guidance on proper exercise technique, whereas health coaches take a more holistic approach, addressing factors such as nutrition, stress management, and sleep habits.

When do I need a personal trainer or a health coach?

You may need a personal trainer if you have specific fitness goals, such as losing weight, building muscle, or training for a particular sport or event, and need guidance and support in developing and following an effective exercise program. A personal trainer can also help keep you accountable and motivated.

On the other hand, you may need a health coach if you have multiple health concerns or if you want to make lifestyle changes to improve your overall health and well-being. A health coach can provide guidance and support in areas such as nutrition, stress management, and sleep habits, and help you develop a personalized plan for making lasting changes.

Ultimately, whether you need a personal trainer or a health coach depends on your individual needs and goals. Both can be beneficial in their own ways and you can even work with both simultaneously.

Can you combine personal training and health coaching?

Yes, personal training and health coaching can be combined. Some personal trainers also offer health coaching services, as they have knowledge and experience in both areas. By combining the two, you can receive support and guidance in both your physical fitness and overall health and wellness.

A personal trainer can help you develop an exercise program that takes into account your fitness goals and health conditions, while a health coach can provide additional support in areas such as nutrition, stress management, and lifestyle changes. Together, they can create a comprehensive approach to improving your health and well-being.

What personal trainer or what health coach is right for me?

Choosing the right personal trainer or health coach for you depends on several factors, including your personal goals, fitness level, and health conditions. Here are some things to consider when choosing a personal trainer or health coach:

Expertise: Look for a personal trainer or health coach who has experience and qualifications in the specific areas you need help with.

Approach: Consider the coach’s philosophy and approach to health and fitness. Does it align with your values and goals?

Availability: Make sure the coach is available at a time and place that works for you.

Cost: Consider the cost of personal training or health coaching and ensure it fits within your budget.

Compatibility: It is important to find a personal trainer or health coach who you feel comfortable working with and who you trust to support you in your journey.

It may be helpful to speak with several potential coaches to find the right fit for you. You can also ask for recommendations from friends, family, or healthcare providers.

Why is it important to start now with personal training and health coaching?

Starting now with personal training and health coaching can have numerous benefits for your physical and mental health. Here are some reasons why it’s important to start now:

Improved health: Regular exercise and healthy lifestyle habits can improve your overall health, reducing the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers.

Increased energy and vitality: By making healthy changes to your diet and lifestyle, you may find that you have more energy and feel better overall.

Better mental health: Exercise and healthy habits have been shown to improve mood and reduce stress and anxiety.

Achieving personal goals: A personal trainer or health coach can help you set and achieve specific fitness and health goals.

Long-term benefits: Starting now with personal training and health coaching can set you on a path towards a healthier future and help you maintain good health for years to come.

It’s never too late to start taking care of your health, and working with a personal trainer or health coach can provide the support and guidance you need to achieve your goals and improve your well-being.

So, please contact me and start your healthy journey!

Better business performance through vitality

Vitality is a person’s physical, mental and emotional health and resilience. Good vitality can lead to improved performance at work due to the following factors:

Increased productivity: A healthy and fit person is more productive and energetic.

Reduced absence: A healthy employee is sick less often and has less absenteeism.

Increased motivation: A healthy and energetic employee has more motivation and commitment to work.

Improvement of stress resistance: A healthy employee is better able to deal with stress and therefore performs better.

Improvement of concentration: A healthy employee has a better ability to concentrate and can focus better on important tasks.

In short, it can be said that by working on vitality, employees can perform better and make a greater contribution to the company.

I want to become more vital, what should I do?

To become more vital, consider the following steps:

Exercise: Try to exercise at least 30 minutes every day, for example by walking, cycling or exercising.

Healthy diet: Provide a healthy and balanced diet with plenty of vegetables, fruit, whole grain products and protein-rich products.

Adequate sleep: Get enough sleep of 7-9 hours per night.

Stress management: Learn effective ways to manage stress, such as through meditation, yoga or spending time in nature.

Social connections: Stay in touch with family and friends and try to create new social connections.

Positive mindset: Practice a positive attitude and try to think and act positively.

Regular check-ups: Visit the doctor regularly for check-ups and to detect any health problems in a timely manner.

By following these steps, you can work on your vitality and live a healthier, more energetic and productive life.

How do you measure vitality?

There are different ways to measure vitality. Various questionnaires are available that measure the levels of physical, mental and emotional health and resilience. But you can also think of fitness and health tests: tests such as blood pressure measurements, blood tests and fitness tests can provide insight into physical vitality. In addition, there are many types of apps such as sleep tracking: By using a sleep tracking app or wearable device, you can gain insight into the quality and duration of your sleep. What still works well and is therefore widely used is keeping a diary: By keeping track of what you eat, how much exercise you get and how you feel, you can gain better insight into your vitality. Feedback from family, friends and colleagues can also provide insight into your vitality.

Please note that these methods are indicative only and do not make definitive statements about a person’s vitality. It is important to consult with a doctor if you have any concerns about your health and vitality.

What are the benefits of vitality for yourself?

The benefits of vitality for you are:

Improved physical health: Regular exercise and healthy eating will improve your physical health, giving you more energy and stamina.

Improved mental health: Engaging in physical activities, reducing stress, and getting enough sleep will improve your mental health and make you less susceptible to anxiety, depression, and other mental conditions.

Are vital people happier?

Vital people can indeed be happier than less vital people, but it is not always a direct correlation. Vitality and happiness are both complex and interrelated concepts that are influenced by many factors.

However, by keeping themselves physically and mentally fit, people improve their self-confidence and quality of life, which can lead to an increased sense of happiness and well-being.
Imagine the following situation. You are in the gym every day training with heavy weights. At home, a contractor is renovating your house. You are at home and on that day a crane operator will bring your new window frames and sliding doors. Some help is needed during work. You see how the crane operator easily lifts the frame with one hand. That should be easy to do. So you step in, help. But the moment you want to do that same movement, you only experience how incredibly difficult it is. How is it possible, do you have to train hard in the gym every day! You suddenly gain deep respect for that crane operator.

Why is that? Primarily because many men in the gym train very one-sidedly. Mainly focused on their beach body. There is of course nothing wrong with a beach body, on the contrary! But it is not a functional force.

That is why I pay a lot of attention to functional training in my fitness programs. Functional training is a type of physical training that focuses on the functional movements performed in your daily activities with the aim of being able to perform these movements with more efficiency, strength and control. So you improve your functional capacity, making it easier for you to perform tasks with less risk of injury. And that applies to every age and to every physical shape or condition, wherever you are now.

This type of training usually involves exercises that mimic everyday movements, such as squats, lunges, and pushes and pulls. These exercises are often performed using resistance bands, dumbbells, kettlebells, and body weight, and are designed to target multiple muscle groups at once. The focus of functional training is on improving movement patterns, increasing stability and improving overall performance in activities of daily living, rather than just isolating individual muscle groups.

And how does it help you? Well… if that crane operator also visits you, you will be able to step in with a little more certainty. And of course you can always continue to have that respect for his daily work.

Deadlifts: Deadlifts are a powerful exercise that strengthens the entire back of the body, including the legs, back and shoulders.
